As always, Ufuomaee delivers another emotionally charged novel with themes of family, love, emotion, betrayal, and layered with faith concepts of morality, forgiveness, and faithfulness. I really, really enjoyed the story, from the perspective of the different characters, there were so many twists, multiple suspects, and hidden motives in the story that made it truly a page turner. At various times, I was torn between anger, disgust, frustration and empathy as I read the main character’s experience, got to peel back the layers on who Nnamdi was, and learned of the motivation of the different characters. Ultimately, there was a lot to unpack and learn from, and I keep reflecting on the learnings from the book relating to forgiveness, dealing with trauma, family relationships and ultimately that God’s love for every one of His children cannot be measured.
